For this activity I had to choose a country out of Canada, England, Germany, Chile, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Australia, Malaysia and South Africa. This country I chose England.
Reason 1: I have never been to England and would like to know more about the fascinating country.
Reason 2: There are many different interesting landmarks that have taken a very important part in history.

Hi Angari and welcome to the Summer Learning Journey programme!! We are so excited that you have decided to join us this year. You have made a wonderful choice of country. England is a fascinating place to visit. It has beautiful architecture and amazing museums. I actually had the chance to live in England for a few years back in 2007-2009. I lived in a place called 'Norwich' which is a big city in the south-eastern part of England. It is about 2 hours from London by train.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was living in Norwich my friends and I used to go a local pub for lunch on a Sunday. It was a tiny little place that had been built way back in the 1200s. I loved eating there because it felt like I was part of a long history. In fact, people had been eating at that pub for over 800 years!
I hope that you will enjoy learning about England, its people and its history over the next month. We'll look forward to reading your blogs and posting comments as we go!
Cheers, Rachel :)
Kia ora Angari,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Summer Learning Journey! We are so happy to have you blogging with us over the summer holidays. I'm looking forward to reading your blogs taking us through your journey to England. I've never been there either, but likewise I think it would be such an interesting part of the world to visit!
My name is Dan, and I'm working alongside Rachel and Mark over the summer. I'm lucky enough to be able to read your blogs and I'll be leaving comments as I go. If you want to reply to my comments then please do! I'd love to know what you think, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask away.
Well done on completing the first learning activity. I like your reasons for wanting to visit England. It is a country with a rich heritage that goes back a very long time. A lot of their ancient buildings and monuments have been carefully looked after, which is awesome because that means people like you and I can visit them whenever we want! Which landmarks do you think you would like to visit the most? I really love my sport, so I would enjoy visiting Lords, which is a very famous cricket ground. Or maybe somewhere like Stonehenge, which they think could have been built 5000 years ago!
This is a great start Angari. I'm looking forward to following the rest of your blogs over your Summer Learning Journey :-)
Dan.
Hello Angari, you have provided two really interesting facts about why you would want to travel to England. There is a sentence that doesn't make sense so make sure you double check your work before you publish it on your blog. Keep on working hard.
ReplyDeleteHi AJ and Angari,
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding us to always double check our work, AJ. I can sometimes forget to do that and then post a blog that doesn't quite make sense.
I'm going to make sure that I always take the time to re-read my comment before I post it.
Thanks for the helpful reminder, AJ!!
Cheers,
Rachel
